The 2020 Triple E Awards will be hosted with special emphasis put on the topic of sustainable development. Therefore, we did select a place with a lot of meaning: we chose Bogota region because of its strategic and focused commitment to sustainability, its green transformation mission, its role in educating its population. Bogota is the only city in South America featured in 2018 WSP Global Cities Index dedicated to assessing the physical fabric of cities and how it equips them for the connected, circular and sustainable future.
If you register for the Award Ceremony, you will get access to our Triple E Awards Travel Magazine, featuring key information on Colombia, Bogota and the amazing places we are going to visit.
The 2020 LATAM Triple E Awards Ceremony will be part of the REDUE-ALCUE 8th International Congress. Attendance to the award ceremony is free of charge for all representatives of the shortlisted institutions and accompanying guests.
If you would like to join the conference, please register on the conference website. As a registered conference participant, you will be able to present your institution at the conference at a special session on "Excellence in Entrepreneurship and Engagement".

Congress as the Focal Point for Sustainability Development
This year the VIII Congress will be organised by The ALCUE University-Business Network in collaboration with University EAN (UEAN) and Association of Universities of Latin America and the Caribbean (UDUAL) and will take place from 29th September to 2nd October, 2020 in Bogota. The theme this year is University and actors of the economy for the Promotion of Sustainable Development. The Congress is an annual forum for experts, managers, researchers, teachers and students interested in the relations between universities and the industry. The overarching aim is to exchange knowledge, experiences and good practices among peers and foster critical, thought-provoking and relevant discussions and reflections in the area of sustainable development. Some of the objectives include: sharing models, methodologies and tools for managing technology transfer, contributing to the discussion on the social role of Higher Education Institutions, the role of linkages and the university-business relationships, as stakeholders of an innovation ecosystem and contributing to the construction of the map of good practices within university-business cooperation.

The EAN Legacy is a global role model in sustainable architecture. It is a 20,000 square meter building designed by architect William McDonough and inspired by the Cradle to Cradle® philosophy.
EAN Legacy is a modern ten-storey structure, which provides space for new classrooms, laboratories, two auditoriums with capacity for over 500 people, a gymnasium, an indoor sports centre, 329 vehicle parking spaces, 166 bicycle parking spaces, and 1,681 study posts for 4,000 new students.
The most astounding feature of the building is WonderFrame™ shade structure, a perpetually reusable/recyclable space-frame-like fabrication. The EAN Legacy WonderFrame screen is covered with multi-colored perforated panels, symbolically mimicking tree leaves. The panels provide shade whilst taking in daylight, thus showcasing both material and energy efficiency. Covering around 85% of the facede, the WonderFrame stands as the largest installation of this modular building system to date.
